Advanced tips for optimizing your GBP Products section.
Today, I’m giving you a run-through of how to optimize the Products section on your Google Business Profile.
I’ve written a lot about why optimizing your GBP is important… but in case you missed it:
It’s essential to ranking in the Map Pack (the top three Google Map results), which accounts for about 50% of search traffic for local businesses.
The Products section is one of the most important areas of the GBP — it’s where you showcase your law services to potential clients, and it directly impacts your local SEO.
So you want to make sure to set this up correctly!
Let’s take a look at the GBP for one of our clients, Greenstein & Milbauer:
We click into the “Edit Products” section here, and the Products page pops up:
For this client, we’ve organized the products by priority, from left to right — “Personal Injury Attorney in NYC,” then “Car Accident Attorney in NYC,” and so on.
Greenstein & Milbauer are a personal injury firm, so these are their bread-and-butter case types. (Yours will likely be different.)
Here’s what it looks like when we click into the first entry:
For each product on your GBP, make sure to fill out every single field.
Each product should also have:
A unique product description
A link to the page on your website that corresponds to this category (in the Product landing page URL field)
The link is especially important, since it will help show Google relevance for those search terms.
