What is the biggest pain point in your industry? What do clients complain about the most?
Blue Ocean Strategy, Category Design, all innovation frameworks that I’ve found have this in common – they start with and spend 80% of their time on the problem.
This problem-focus forces us to think about OUR CLIENTS and that’s exactly where our focus should be.
If you brush this off and think to yourself, “Everyone knows the problem – we all solve the same one,” could this be why you also have competition and commoditization challenges? Could this be why at-bats seem to be coming less and less?
When we switched from a solution focus to a problem focus, things started happening very quickly.
The market began to see our company as a missionary one, instead of a mercenary one just looking for the next sale.
I believe the reason for this is simple – we’re talking to people about solving their most pressing issue, not about the features and benefits of a specific solution 🤮 like everyone else.
Again, what is the biggest pain point in your industry and where in the client journey does it occur?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Reply to this email and let me know.
