Why faster website load times = more leads and cases

Plus: Some quick action steps if your site is sluggish

Another excellent question from a lawyer came in this week.

His firm’s website has been experiencing some performance issues lately.

Hesitant to shell out money for a web developer, he asks:

“Does my site’s speed really matter that much?”

The answer is…

One hundred percent, yes!

In fact, it’s absolutely vital.

Your site’s speed is a top ranking factor on Google.

The algorithm wants to send users to sites where they’ll find a good user experience (UX).

And fast load times are a crucial part of that — if users have to sit there and wait, staring at a spinning wheel, your rankings are going to take a hit.

If you suspect that your firm’s site is loading slower than it should, here’s the good news:

Running a speed test is free, and easy to do.

There are lots of tools you can use, like:

Pop your site’s URL into any of these, and they’ll give you a performance score (measuring speed down to the millisecond), plus a breakdown of the issues that are slowing it down, with suggestions on how to solve them.

If your site is running slowly, you’ll likely need someone with web development experience to implement the fixes.

But, these tools are a great start to point you (and your developer) in the right direction.
